‘The Swifts Return’

'Endless Forms, Most Beautiful'

Cathy Duncan's beautiful lino print, "Swifts Return", is set to be showcased at Northern Print's upcoming exhibition, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". Inspired by Bestiaries and Herbaria, Cathy chose the Common Swift as her muse - a bird that is one of the seventy endangered bird species in the UK. Despite its nickname, "The Devil's Bird", Cathy loves the Common Swift for the joy it brings every summer, the promise of good weather, and the opportunity to witness its exhilarating flight and hear its piercing calls. Read Cathy's blog to learn about processes used in the making.
