An icon was traditionally a devotional painting though they have now become the stuff of Christmas cards. We associate Christmas with mother, baby, angels and whatever our beliefs we can appreciate the imagery and its setting. 

In this textile collage course you can choose a central image from my collection or you can send me an image which I will transfer on to fabric. Who is the person you venerate? Maybe it is none of the above! I will show you ways of building up an iconic looking image using silk and other precious fabrics and we will allow ourselves a little bit of bling with beads, sequins and metallic threads. I will show you a way of adding an extra layer of paint to tarnish and embellish your textile picture further.
