Watercolour Painting Skills
12-week course.
Many artists dream of capturing the serene beauty of woodland scenes, where the charm and tranquility of nature come alive. However, painting trees in watercolour can be a challenging endeavor for many. It’s no wonder that some artists hesitate to tackle this captivating subject until they feel more confident in their techniques.
Jason's course, “Tree Painting Projects – Watercolour,” will help you develop your skills and understanding of tree painting step by step. By breaking down the painting process into simple, easy-to-follow methods, you will build your confidence and soon be painting alongside Jason's projects. These projects will guide you in creating pictures with a sense of realism, including beautiful woodland scenes.
Painting trees has been one of Jason's passions throughout his artistic career. He has explored a wide range of styles, from Victorian woodlands to abstract representations of trees. Over the years, he has discovered numerous techniques that can assist any painter in enhancing their tree rendering skills.
Medium
Jason will be drawing with pencil and painting with watercolour. However, if you are an acrylic or gouache painter, you are also welcome to join the class, as many of the skills demonstrated can be applied to these mediums as well.
Level
This course would suit a relative beginner and the more experienced painter who is looking to tune their painting skills.

Why does Jason think this course would be of value to you as a painter?
Trees are incredibly fun to paint once you've mastered the basics. Why? Because they are highly adaptable. You don’t always have to copy your reference material directly; you can change elements and still create believable tree forms. Trees can appear playful and magical, dark and ominous, ethereal, or brittle. They possess many characteristics and can set the mood or add drama to a picture. By gaining confidence in your tree painting, you open up a whole new world of creativity, transforming what you once dreaded into the most enjoyable and artistic element of your work.
