Join us for an inspiring workshop led by the talented felt artist Claire Priestley, a proud member of Network Artists North East and The International Feltmakers Association. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your felting skills, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn and unleash your creativity!
You will transform your chosen landscape or seascape photograph into a stunning felted artwork. Feel free to discuss your image with Claire in advance, ensuring that your artwork is truly personal. By the end of the workshop, you'll take home a beautiful finished piece measuring approximately 50 cm x 50 cm—a true reflection of your creative journey!
In the morning, you will start by laying out your picture, and in the afternoon, we dive into the fascinating world of wet felting, adding depth and detail through needle felting techniques. With small group tuition and access to a diverse selection of wool, fibres, textures, and colours, you have everything you need to add interest and enhance your felted land or seascape.
All materials, tuition and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Please bring a medium-sized towel and a photograph to work from.
The price of the day workshop is £75. There will be an opportunity to order lunch at the onsite Hearth Café, which is thoroughly recommended! Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch.
Sign up, learn new skills and let your imagination soar!
