Workshop I Wellbeing
Yoga and Furoshiki
Saturday I 07.12.24 I10am – 4pm I £67.50 I Led by Emma Bacon & Ali Wilkes
We'll begin with a morning of gentle yoga, letting go of tension from the body with soft, flowing movement, then settling into restorative static poses for deep release and rest. The morning will include breathwork and meditation, finishing with a refreshing deep relaxation practice (Yoga Nidra).
In the afternoon, we will be joined by Ali Wilkes, a local printmaker and tutor, who will guide us in designing and creating furoshiki, traditional Japanese wrapping cloths. You will cut and collage papers that have been pre-painted with disperse dyes, preparing to transfer your seasonal design onto fabric using a heat press. Furoshiki combines resourcefulness and creativity, offering a decorative and reusable alternative to single-use wrapping paper. You will leave with a beautiful furoshiki wrap, which can transform a small gift into something unique with various folding and wrapping techniques.
Join us for a day of creativity and wellness for just £67.50. This includes a delicious lunch and cake provided by the Hearth Cafe, as well as hot drinks, snacks, and all necessary tuition and materials. No prior experience in yoga or printing is required—just bring your enthusiasm for a relaxing and enjoyable day. Come and experience this feel-good day of creative activities and rejuvenating yoga in the beautiful Hall at the Hearth.
